SCIS Lower School Activities

Developing the Whole Student

Activities:
Grades K-5: Choir, drama, band, strings, art, crafts, strategy games, environmental groups, book making, Mandarin, cooking, sports, sports, and more sports! These are some of our offerings during our quarterly after-school activities.
Students in grades 3-5, students can participate in intramural sporting events among our three campuses. For a look at what activities are happening now,visit our internal website: www.scisdragongs.net.
Students in grades 5 and 6 may elect to participate in China International Schools Sports’ Association (CISSA). Seasonal campus sporting teams are formed, and SCIS schools compete against other international schools.

Field Trips:
Learning goes beyond the walls of the classroom, and every year, lower school students explore the neighborhoods of Shanghai to learn about the city from ancient days to modern times. Some examples of trips might include visits to ancient towns and gardens, museums, parks, aquariums, farms, automobile plants, dairies, and much, much more!
