Meeting the needs of diverse learners...
Each grade level has specific goals that students are expected to achieve by the end of the academic
year. However, at SCIS, we also recognize that learning develops at different rates. Many of our
students come with skills above our grade level targets. Our teachers diagnose students and will
provide learning at the correct level of difficulty. For example, some of our first grade students
are reading at a level typical of third graders. Our teachers provide lessons and materials to
provide challenges and to meet their learning needs. Our curriculum coordinator can be reached
at curriculum@scischina.org and is always willing to answer more specific questions regarding our
programs.
