Sayaka Nonaka

Hello, I am Sayaka Nonaka and I am the Japanese ambassador. My 5-year-old son is in prekindergarten and his English and Chinese are progressing rapidly. We have lived here since January 2007 and before that we were in Beijing for a year and a half. Including my childhood days, I have lived in New York for 15 years. I enjoy being active, especially doing yoga, swimming, and playing golf.

China is a character culture, so it is a fairly easy place for us Japanese to live in, but when we first arrive in Shanghai, getting used to reckless (!) drivers and the pollution is difficult. Let's enjoy the time together in order to make your child's school life more fun!
